Owen J. Roberts claimed the 2021 Basic Training Lacrosse fall lacrosse league championship with a 5-4 triumph over Boyertown at the Shipley School.
Defense was the key for the Wildcats, who earned a hard-fought 3-2 semi-final overtime win over West Chester Rustin and then a 5-4 thriller over Boyertown to capture the Peter K. Ortale Memorial trophy.
The champs were lead in goal by Will Cody, Ethan Miller and Brady Callahan and the defense of Nick Sgarra, Parker Waldman, Zach Karas, Sam Hornak and Torin Whitten. On offense, Josh Devine had two goals while Will Jaeger, Pat DeAnna and Matt Mackrell each had one in a 5-0 run.
Nolan Brown and Skylur Davidheiser showed heart and grit, as they battled through injuries to help the Wildcats hold onto their one goal lead.
