For the ninth time in her career, Sondra Dickey (Conestoga), of Lehigh women’s lacrosse has been named Patriot League Midfielder of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.
Dickey started 2021 much like she left off last season, scoring a career-high eight goals while adding an assist, four draw controls, groundball and caused turnover in the Mountain Hawks’ first game of the season (and first in nearly a calendar year).
Dickey’s goal total was just three from tying the program and Patriot League record. She had five goals and an assist in the first half alone. Then in the second half, Dickey scored two of Lehigh’s goals in a 4-0 run to begin the second half, turning an 11-9 deficit into a 13-11 lead. In the process on Saturday, Dickey moved from a tie for fifth into sole possession of third place in program history for career goals (now 169).
Also recognized with honorable mention on Monday were fellow graduate student Alexandra Ladda (Harriton, one goal, four groundballs, two caused turnovers) along with sophomore Emma Eberhardt (one goal, career-high six assists).
The Mountain Hawks will return to action next Saturday when they host another Philadelphia-area program, Saint Joseph’s, at 4 p.m. on ESPN+.
