Grant Ament (Haverford School/Penn State/PLL Archers, Haverford assistant coach) had three goals and an assist to spark Team USA to an 8-7 win over two-time defending NCAA champion Virginia Saturday at the USA Lacrosse Fall Classic at Tierney Field in maryland.
Shot-stick midfielder Patrick Resch (La Salle, Chaos) had a groundball and a caused turnover for Team USA.
Peter Garno (Haverford School) had an assist for Virginia.

Marie McCool (Moorestown/UNC), Emily Parros (Strath Haven/UNC) and Olivia Dirks (Episcopal Academy/UNC) each scored once for Team USA in thw win over the defending NCAA champs. Haley Warden (Garnet Valley/JMU) added an assist.

Barraco, Campbell, Cheng lead USA Select U18 comeback
Faceoff specialist Matt Barraco (Parkland/Duke’s LC), midfielder Collin Campbell (Sanford School-DE) and attackman Mark Cheng (Miramont-CA/Duke’s LC) each scored in a stunning rally in the final 2 minutes to help Team USA U-18 topple Ontario, 13-12, in the opener of the Brogden Cup at St. Paul’s School.
Trailing by four goals – 12-8 – with less than two minutes remaining, the U.S. answered with goals by Cheng (1:57 mark), Hunter Panzik (1:16) and Campbell (0:59) to pull within one. Triston Jewell tied it with 12 seconds left and then Barraco won the ensuing faceoff, and scored the game-winning goal just seven seconds later.
Campbell (St. Joseph’s commit) had three goals and Barraco (Harvard) had two.
“I had so much adrenaline pumping. I was more worried about winning the faceoff, doing my job and getting it to an attackman,” Barraco told US Lacrosse. “Then it was open. I took my best shot.”
USA also downed Haudenosaunee, 11-8, to finish the day 2-0.
