From Press Release
Corrigan Sports Enterprises shifted its All-America lacrosse games to a regional format today to comply with current COVID-19 safety guidelines and travel restrictions from states represented by the tournament’s participants and teams. Boys and girls teams from both the Highlight (graduating classes of 2021 & 2022) and Command (graduating classes of 2023 & 2024) divisions will compete in the new format which features four Super Regions, with the winner of each Super Region ultimately advancing to the All-America championship weekend in the fall.
Lee Corrigan, president of Corrigan Sports, said, “This has proven to be a unique year that demanded a creative solution to provide the nation’s most talented high school players with an opportunity to compete. We feel these adjustments help provide a safe environment for the players to test their skills against the best in their region on a big stage. The revised format hopefully offers the potential to compete in additional games during the fall recruiting period as well.”
The new All-America Super Regions consist of:
North (Upstate NY, Long Island, & New England): Date and Location TBD.
South (Baltimore, Washington D.C., & South): August 6,7 (Girls); August 8,9 (Boys) at Meadowood Regional Park in Lutherville, MD.
East (Philadelphia, NJ, & CONNY): Boys & Girls, August 27-28 at the Maplezone Sports Village fields in Aston, PA.
West (West, Midwest & Southwest): Boys & Girls, August 22-23 at Grand Park Sports Campus, Westfield, IN.
The Super Region tournament features a three-team round robin format, followed by a playoff format with the winner advancing to the All-America championship weekend later in the fall. Each team will play a minimum of five games. All games will be videotaped and provided free to college coaches.
The Junior Spotlight and Uncommitted showcase games associated with the event have been rescheduled for All-America championship weekend. The location and dates of championship weekend will be announced at a later date.
