4/24/09 – Boys’ wrap: Episcopal Academy edges Malvern Prep in OT, 7-6, to take over first place in inter-Ac League

Tyler Olsen scored the game-winner with a minute left in overtime after a long outlet by goalie Matt Lerman and a nice pass from Joe Scullin to give host Episcopal Academy a stunning 7-6 triumph over Malvern Prep Thursday, moving EA into first place in the Inter-Ac League.
EA improves to 3-1 in the Inter-Ac and 8-5 overall. The Churchmen, ranked seventh in the PA Media Rankings, were coming off one-goal defeats to No. 2 La Salle and No. 4 St. Joseph’s Prep. Malvern Prep, ranked No. 5, fell to 2-1 in the league and 5-5.
Olsen scored after Lerman (12 saves) made one of many key stops and then sent a 45-yard, over-the-shoulder outlet to a breaking Scullin. Soon the feed went to Olsen who beat Andrew O’Connell.
4/24/10 – Boys’ Katie Samson Roundup: Keegan OT goal lifts Springfield-D past St. Joe’s Prep; Haverford School tops Emmaus

Colin Keegan scored off a feed from Jordan Demcher 38 seconds into the second overtime to lift Springfield-Delco past St. Joseph’s Prep, 6-5, today, in the 10th Annual Katie Samson Lacrosse Festival at Radnor High.
The victory improved the Cougars’ record to 10-1 overall. The Prep fell to 5-5.
Austin Kaut made 12 saves in goal for the Cougars and Joe Venit scored twice while Bobby Gildea, Josh Cavanaugh and Larry McLaughlin scored once each.
Jeff Heath led the Hawks with a pair of goals and Mike Zikoski was standout in the nets with 15 saves.
4/24/11 – Saturday’s boys’ roundup: Emmaus edges Springfield-Delco; GA wins

Sophomore midfielder Marc Feldman scored the game-winning goal with 8:10 remaining in the game as host Emmaus earned a 5-4 non-league win over Springfield-Delco Saturday in boys’ lacrosse.
Trailing by one heading into the final period (4-3), the Hornets (8-4 overall) rallied for a pair of goals by senior Dan Kinek and Feldman to defeat the Cougars for the first time 2008. Sophomore Zack Schleicher had a pair of goals in the win while junior Steve Bitto also added a solo tally. Senior Joe Magargal picked up the win in net with 12 saves.
4/24/11 – HEADstrong Rivalry Games: Conestoga, Abington, Unionville, Penncrest, Kingsway, Ridley win

Brad Lord scored four goals and Connor Frisina added three goals and an assist as Conestoga defeated Episcopal Academy, 9-6, Saturday in the 2nd annual HEADstrong Rivalry Games at Widener University.
The Pioneers – ranked No. 2 both in the state and the country behind Haverford School – improved to 10-0 with the victory.
Tanmer Scott and Tyler Brooke each had a goal and an assist and John Lopes made 10 saves for Conestoga, which trailed, 4-2, at one point late in the first half.
Connor Haab had two goals and two assists and Tyler Odell scored twice for EA.
The Rivalry Games benefited the HEADStrong Foundation and its fight against blood cancer in the name of Nick Colleluori, the Ridley alum who passed away five years ago after a lengthy battle with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.. In all, six varsity and five JV games were played.
4/24/12 – Boys’ lacrosse: Lauletta OT goal helps Downingtown East down Henderson; sets up 1st-place showdown Thursday vs. D-town West

Kyle Lauletta scored shortly after the overtime face-off to lift host Downingtown East to a scintillating 8-7 victory tonight over Henderson in a key Ches-Mont League boys’ lacrosse game.
The Cougars (9-3) remain undefeated in the league with a 6-0 mark, tied with Downingtown West in first place. The two powers square off on Thursday at East.
The Cougars gained possession to open the overtime frame after Kevin Clarke (20 of 21 face-offs) won yet another draw. After a timeout, Lauletta (three goals, one assist) started with the ball on the endline and after backing up the shot, he saw Henderson had no one on the crease for the slide and took his defender to the goal.
4/24/12 – Boys’ lacrosse: Haverford School tops Penn Charter, 8-7, on Rego’s goal in third overtime

Zach Rego scored with 3:28 left in the third overtime today to lift host Haverford School to an 8-7 thriller over Penn Charter today in Inter-Ac League boys’ lacrosse.
The Fords (13-1, 5-0) led, 5-2, at halftime, but the Quakers (7-9, 1-4) rallied and later tied it, 7-7, on a goal by Shane Carr with 3:14 to play in regulation.
4/24/13 – Men’s lacrosse: Ursinus tops Haverford for 1st time since 2004; Eastern cruises

Ursinus freshman attack Steve Mussoline (Allentown Central Catholic) scored four goals as the Bears (8-5, 2-5 Centennial) defeated Haverford (6-7, 3-4 Centennial) 10-8 on tonight in men’s lacrosse play.
The Bears, who defeated Haverford for the first time since 2004, withstood a Ford flurry in the final 6:43 of the game as Haverford erased a seven-goal deficit to get within one at 9-8.
However, Ursinus freshman attack Logan Panaccione scored his 26th goal of the season with one minute remaining in the fourth quarter to save the game.
Panaccione finished with two goals and two assists, while sophomore midfielder Jake Weber scored two and added an assist.
4/24/14 – Philly stars come out in droves this weekend in @ACCMLax Championships at PPL Park

4/24/14 – Boys’ lacrosse: Salesianum School downs St. Ignatius Prep, 8-7, to complete California sweep

Host Salesianum School completed a sweep of two California powers today when it defeated visiting St. Ignatius Prep, 8-7.
The Sals (7-1) had defeated La Costa Canyon, 10-8, just 12 days ago.
Jason Kelly (St. Joseph’s signee) scored three goals and had the game-winner with 7:16 to play for the Sals. Also, junior Ryan Kern (Navy) made 17 saves.
St. Ignatius (10-5) – last year’s West Catholic Athletic League Champion and nationally-ranked most of the year – also played Virginia’s St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes on Tuesday and suffered a 16-6 defeat.

Evan Wolf had four goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as host Lower Merion stunned Garnet Valley, 7-6, Thursday in Central League boys’ lacrosse.
John Williamson posted 17 saves for the Aces (6-6 overall, 5-3 league) and Paddy Black had a goal and two assists while Aaron Jaffe played a strong game at the face-off X.
Springfield-Delco 7, Radnor 2
James Spence made 15 saves and Mike Gerzabek scored three goals while the Cougars’ defense stood out in the Central League victory.
