The Phantastix 2021 girls’ travel team will hit prime time Saturday when it faces Uproar (MD) on ESPN3 (live at 4 p.m.) in the second of three Corrigan Sports Enterprises Women’s Lacrosse Series “Spotlight Games.”

The game will be held at St. Mark’s School in Wilmington, DE as the final contest of the Corrigan Capital Cup 2021 division tourney. The game also will be broadcast on ESPNU sometime next week.

“We orchestrated a partnership with ESPN a few months ago regarding our CSEW Lacrosse Series,” said Corrigan Sales Director Ryan Corrigan. “This year we’re broadcasting one ‘Spotlight Game’ from the Champions Cup (held last weekend), the Capital Cup and the Presidents Cup in November. This series is exclusively for the class of 2021; we felt like this was a great opportunity for kids who were stripped of their High School seasons.

“We landed on Phantastix and Uproar by vote! We allowed anyone and everyone to vote on our website:

Phantastix co-director Jess Lake said her team is honored to be chosen and represent the program and the Philly region.

“We are so excited for our 2021 team to get to play their last game on TV!” said Lake, who oversees the Phantastix HS program, but noted that Madison Hurwitz and Katie Detwiler have been the summer’s primary 2021 coaches. “It is such a perfect ending for a group that has worked so hard and represented our program so well!”

“Many of these girls have been on the team since middle school such as Abby Jansen (UVA commit) Dani Falcone (Columbia commit) and Megan Marengo (Navy commit). Our 2021 girls showed up every week, worked hard, and brought great energy in unusual circumstances. We are really proud of them and excited that everyone will get to watch them perform!”

The first Spotlight Game featured the Long island YellowJackets defeating Major Force Lacrosse, 10-5, Sunday in the Champions Cup at Midlothian, VA.

Corrigan said the Corrigan Sports team is trying to provide events to bring lacrosse into the limelight.

“The game was capped off with a fireworks show,” said Corrigan. “We plan to announce our 2021 schedule in the coming days; we have all sorts of unique additions to our events and look forward to hosting programs from across the nation!
