No major changes in PIAA girls’ qualifiers/brackets for next 2-year period

The PIAA passed the second and final reading for qualifiers and brackets for the 2021 and 2022 girls’ lacrosse championships at last week’s zoom teleconference.

District 1 will again advance four teams in Class AA and six in AAA to the state tourney for the two-year period (the PIAA re-assesses every two years). District 12 will get two qualifiers in Class AA and one in AAA; District 11 advances one team in each classification.

PIAA Girls’ Qualifiers, 2021-2022

Class AA – 112 teams – 1-430 females in grades 9, 10, and 11 as of Tuesday, October 1, 2019.
District 1 – 27 teams, 4 qualifiers
District 2 – 12 teams, 2 qualifiers
District 3 – 25 teams, 3 qualifiers
Districts 4/6 – 6 teams, 1 qualifier
Districts 7/10 – 22 teams, 3 qualifiers
District 11 – 6 teams, 1 qualifier
District 12 – 14 teams, 2 qualifiers

Class AAA120 teams – 431 and above females in grades 9, 10, and 11 as of Tuesday, October 1, 2019.
District 1 – 47 teams, 6 qualifiers
District 3 – 28 teams, 4 qualifiers

District 6 – 4 teams, 1 qualifier
Districts 7– 22 teams, 3 qualifiers

Districts 11/2 – 11 teams, 1 qualifier
District 12 – 8 teams, 1 qualifiers
