No major changes in PIAA boys’ qualifiers/brackets for next 2-year period

The PIAA passed the second and final reading for qualifiers and brackets for the 2021 and 2022 boys’ lacrosse championships at last week’s zoom teleconference.

District 1 will again advance two teams in Class AA and six in AAA to the state tourney for the two-year period (the PIAA re-assesses every two years). District 12 will get two qualifiers in both Class AA and AAA; District 11 advances one team in each classification.

Class AA – 103 teams – 1-497 males in grades 9, 10, and 11 as of Tuesday, October 1, 2019
District 1 – 15 teams, 2 qualifiers
District 2 – 11 teams, 2 qualifiers
District 3– 29 teams, 4 qualifiers
District 4/6 – 5 teams, 1 qualifier
District 7 – 21 teams, 3 qualifiers

District 10 – 4 teams, 1 qualifier
District 11 – 7 teams, 1 qualifier
District 12 – 11 teams, 2 qualifiers

Class AAA106 teams – 498 and above males in grades 9, 10, and 11 as of Tuesday, October 1, 2019.
District 1 – 42 teams, 6 qualifiers
Districts 2/11 – 9 teams, 1 qualifier
District 3/ 6 – 25 teams, 4 qualifiers
Districts 7/10– 19 teams, 3 qualifiers
District 11 – 10 teams, 2 qualifiers
