Loyola University Katie Detwiler (Archbishop Carroll) and Livy Rozenzweig were both included on US Lacrosse Magazine’s list of Division I Preseason Women’s Lacrosse All-Americans released last week.
The Greyhounds duo represent two out of just 13 honorees across the nation. Loyola is one of five schools overall with multiple preseason All-Americans.
Both Detwiler and Rosenzweig achieved first team All-America status from ILWomen following an abbreviated season last spring in which Loyola went a perfect 5-0 (4-0 vs. ranked opponents) and was ranked No. 3 in all national polls.
Detwiler (Devon, Pa.) was a three-time Patriot League Defender of the Week last spring, and she was one of just three sophomores in Division I to land on the Tewaaraton Award watch list.
She anchored the defense during convincing victories over No. 4 Florida (17-6) and No. 24 Johns Hopkins (16-7) last season, holding a pair of Tewaaraton Award watch list attackers to three goals and five turnovers combined during those matchups. Detwiler has totaled 34 ground balls, 23 draws and 16 caused turnovers during her first 26 collegiate games.
