From Press Release

The 8th annual Play for the A’s lacrosse event will be held on Saturday, April 18 at Strath Haven High School in Wallingford.

This event fully supports the Strath Haven team’s battle against Alzheimer’s disease by raising funds that offer support services to families affected by this disease.

One hundred percent of event proceeds are shared locally to assist families whose loved ones are affected.

This year’s event features six high school varsity squads, with games held at George King Field (200 S. Providence Road, Wallingford):
9:00 am – Pennridge vs. Springfield (Delco)
11:00 am – North Penn vs. Strath Haven
1:00 pm – Central Bucks South vs Ridley

Ride for the A’s

The Play for the As has already collected over $1,700, and with the addition of the first ever “Ride for the As” effort by two Strath Haven players (junior defender Charlie Dawes and junior attackman Walter Clauss), who will attempt to ride their bikes to Key West (1,500 miles each) this summer the fundraising effort has gone over $8,000.

Ride for the A’s started as a harebrained idea that Dawes had one day at the lunch table. Having just completed a ride to the Jersey Shore, the boys’ confidence was unwavering so “Let’s ride our bikes to the farthest beach – Key West!” sounded about right.
