From Press Release
Cabrini men’s lacrosse seniors Tommy DeLuca, Bobby Cressman (Berks Catholic), Alex Greco (Great Valley), Ty Kostack (Marple Newtown) and Matt LoParo have been named team captains for the 2020 season, head coach Steve Colfer recently announced.
“Each of these student-athletes has displayed leadership characteristics that we hope can benefit our team throughout the 2020 season,” said Colfer upon making the announcement.

“Their unique voices and collective messages have led the team through our fall practices, offseason workouts and thus far through our spring preparations. We are looking forward to these young men continuing to lead our team through the upcoming season.”
DeLuca, a two-time US Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American, was recently named to the organization’s Preseason All-America First Team. The senior also collected Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) and Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors after leading the league with a program record 61 caused turnovers.
Cressman collected his first All-America nod in 2019, after collecting 40 ground balls and 17 causing turnovers to go with three goals and two assists. While the numbers don’t pop off the page, the senor’s biggest impact was felt in the clearing game, where the Blue and White boasted the nation’s 14th ranked clearing percentage of .860.
Greco, a junior defenseman, missed the 2019 season due to injury. As a sophomore, Greco appeared in nine contests, pairing four caused turnovers and five ground balls.
Kostack earned USILA All-America honors in 2019 despite missing eight games due to injury. The senior midfielder scored 33 points before his injury, but returned to the line-up, sparking Cabrini with 16 points during the Cavaliers’ NCAA Tournament run.
A two-time USILA All-American, LoParo will return to the field after suffering a season-injury in the first game of the 2019 season. The senior attackman ranked second on the team with 80 points, pairing 41 goals and a team high 39 assists during his junior campaign.
The Cavaliers will open their 2020 campaign on Feb. 15, as they make the short trip down the Main Line to visit Haverford College to Edith Robb Dixon Field. The annual season-opening tilt will get underway at 11:30am.
