Faceoff Leagues

Philly Faceoff League, Sunday evenings 6-7:30 p.m. through November at Main Line Sports Center, Berwyn. PFL is for face-off guys of all skill levels in grades 4-12 and we also welcome local college players who want to get some practice! Walkup registration only, check or venmo accepted!

Skills Clinics

Foundation Lacrosse  5-week Goalie Winter Training in the NCAA-Regulation Indoor “Bubble” at the University of Pennsylvania. Led by UPenn assistant coach Dave Page and other local college coaches, goalies and shooters, these sessions will be fast-paced, challenging and fun while always focusing on building the base that makes high-level goalies great. Goalies will be broken up into groups by age/ability and pushed as they run through 90 minutes of stations, drills and competitions, being coached on the details of the position that will step their game up when it counts. Sessions are capped at a max 4:1 ratio to ensure high reps and detailed coaching and held in the ONLY full-size NCAA regulation indoor turf in the area! Location: University of Pennsylvania’s Dunning-Cohen Indoor Facility. Dates: Sunday 12/15 HS 1-2:30pm MS 2:30-4pm; Saturday 12/28 HS 10-11:30am MS 11:30-1pm; Saturday 1/4 HS 10-11:30am MS 11:30-1pm; Saturday 1/11 HS 4-5:30pm MS 5:30-7pm; Saturday 1/18 MS 6-7:30pm HS 7:30-9pm (Note this session is; MS FIRST). Registration/Info Link:

Quaker Player Development Program this December and January. Held over five weekends in Penn Park’s state-of-the-art Indoor Bubble, this program, in its third year, is geared towards experienced players looking to take their game to the next level and be at their best when their Spring season starts. It is meant to supplement any Winter training players are doing with their club teams. The sessions will be focused on small-group skill development and small-sided play to maximize reps and coaching. Each date will be broken up into a Middle School (2024-2027) and High School (2020-2023) sessions this year, and the dates and times are: *Sunday December 15th 1-2:30pm (High School) and 2:30-4pm (Middle School)
*Saturday December 28th. 10-11:30am (High School) and 11:30-1pm (Middle School)
*Saturday January 4th 10-11:30am (High School) and 11:30-1pm (Middle School)

25th Annual Coach Finn Lacrosse Holiday Camp, with former Philadelphia Wings great Kevin Finneran, Dec. 23 at the Wings’ facility in Voorhees, N.J. The event is for boys aged 7 to 17 and will run from 9-noon. Price is $100. The event includes elite instruction from Finneran – a 10-year Wings member and their second all-time leading scorer and NLL Hall of Fame nominee – as well as guest coaching from members of some of the Wings championship teams of the early 2000’s. Finneran, now coaching in Delray Beach, FL., was a key member of four Wings title teams. Participants also get a t-shirt, prizes and a Chick-Fil-A lunch. Register at or call 215-292-4961.

Box Leagues

Steelyard Sports’ Winter Youth Box Leagues. Games are weekly on Saturdays starting January 4th. Games are played in a brand new heated facility with an official box lacrosse arena with full glass and boards, brand new turf, a terrific spectator area with WIFI, and full glass and boards. Maple Zone/Heritage Lacrosse modified boys’ box lacrosse league for High School through 3rd/4th grade ages. Divisions (tentative)

3rd/4th grade. Dates: Weeknights December 2nd – January 31st. The league is specifically designed to promote safe and fast play based on key box lacrosse fundamentals and concepts. Click here to register League highlights:
*Boards and corners to create a “full box” field to keep the ball in play.
*Utilizes a shot clock to keep the pace of play moving at the speed of box lacrosse.
*The modified box rules benefit all lacrosse players. Attackmen and midfielders will learn to operate in tight spaces improving stick skills, passing and shooting accuracy. Long sticks are not allowed so defenders will learn to play with their body and feet, improving approach and angle play. Goalies will be instructed on proper box goaltending techniques, including positioning, angles, baiting, etc.
*Registered teams will receive one training session that will focus on proper box techniques, including biomechanics, offensive/defensive angles, shooting/finishing, picks, screens, on and off ball play and proper box goaltending techniques. League Format
Gameplay is 5v5 plus goalies (4×4 goals and goalie equipment will be provided)
Each team plays 8 regular season games followed by playoffs for the top 4 teams in each division
Two 20-minute halves

Winter Training

Black Bear’s 2020 Winter Instructional League on Saturday mornings starting January 4. The sessions are geared towards intermediate to advanced players in grades 5th-8th that have at least 1+ years experience playing lacrosse. Players that attend should be able to pass and catch and have a basic understanding of their lacrosse position. The sessions are geared to help players advance their understanding and execution of team and transition concepts. Players will be exposed to challenging team drills that will improve their lacrosse IQ, decision making, and ability to execute team and transition offense/defense concepts. Head coaches Grady Wise of Boyertown and Bryan Churchey of Perkiomen Valley will lead the instruction. REGISTER TODAY. Individual Skills Include: Shooting technique, Individual dodging, Defensive approaches, Defending different areas on the field. The Launch 2.0, at Maplezone, is an event designed specifically for youth rec programs to celebrate the start of their seasons with competitive game play at an intimate premier facility where all games are played on turf. The divisions are as followed: 14U/ 8th grade, 14U/ 7th grade, 12U/ 6th grade, and 12U/ 5th grade. Spring tourneys

The Crown 2.0, at MapleZone, Start the summer travel club circuit of tournaments at this premier event, The Crown 2.0. This tournament is designed for 2024-2027 boy’s club teams and will provide a one of a kind experience for all who attend. Winners of this tournament will receive an embroidered Under Armour backpack and will get to practice cutting down the net to take a piece of it home. The Crown 2.0 provides a stress free environment for parents, players, and coaches.
