Risings Sons Lacrosse Club has openings for youth players.
Players will be added to teams from the Classes of 2024 through 2028. These age groups are coached by elite coaches, including Brian Samson (Villanova & Conestoga), Matt Marasco (Army West Point), Dan Deckelbaum (Avon Grove, MLL & NLL), and Vinnie Bonaddio (Salesianum).

NXT Lacrosse Academy (NLA), a training program for committed and uncommitted boys lacrosse players that features elite instruction by many current and former Division I and III coaches. Back for its fourth year, the NXT Lacrosse Academy (NLA) looks to help take the high-performing lacrosse players game to the next level. The program has served over 400 athletes and has sold out each of the previous three years.
The first NLA session begins January 6 and runs every Sunday through January 27. The second session will run on Sundays from February 3 to 24. All sessions will be held at Main Line Sports Center in Berwyn.

The NLA offers small group, position-based instruction based on Division I training curriculum with elite coaches from former and current college coaching background. Each of the two sessions is broken up into three training groups, middle school (grad years 2023-2025), high school (grad years 2019-2022) and high school committed training (2019-2020). The high school committed training is back after making its debut last year and is only open to 2019 and 2020 committed players, ensuring the highest level of competition.

The 2019 UNC Freshman, Sophomore & Junior Select Camp will take place over two days and nights, Jan. 11-13, giving participants the opportunity to perform in front of the best coaches in college lacrosse! The camp will feature instruction by college coaches as well as games giving participants the chance to showcase their talents on the beautiful campus of the University of North Carolina.

FREE open training boys’ lacrosse sessions for middle school players (5th to 7th), by East Coast Power Lacrosse. These three sessions will be held at Competitive Edge in King of Prussia. The focus will be on shooting and footwork. Goalies and defensive players are welcome. Clinics will be run by the ECP Lacrosse coaching staff and program directors. Register for one, or register for all three.

Haverford School CLS Sunday Winter Clinics. The clinics are open to any high school/middle school or club player in Grades 5 to 12. Participants will be coached in a 2-2.5 hour practice by members of The Haverford School lacrosse coaching staff. Participants will be coached in a program that emphasizes individual and positional skills training in a fun environment, while also learning fundamental offensive and defensive concepts. Two Age Brackets (5th – 8th Grade)(9th – 12th Grade). Max number set based on number per position per age bracket. *Registration is open to all interested. Participation is only limited by total number of participants, positional caps and age. *Clinics will be held outdoors at the Haverford School’s Sabol Field and will run the following days:

Attending athletes will be coached by Head Coach James Purpura and the rest of the Arcadia Men’s Lacrosse Coaching Staff. This is an opportunity to gain exposure to Arcadia University and the lacrosse program. Each participant will have the opportunity to further develop their fundamental lacrosse skills at their specific position, enhance their lacrosse IQ, experience a college practice environment, and showcase their skills in front of the Arcadia Coaching Staff. Heavy emphasis is placed on player development with the day wrapping up with full-field competitive games.

Goalie school is all about getting you ready for your spring season. Brian Dougherty, Drew Adams and their staff breaks down techniques and corrects habits so you can dominate. Live shots, film/chalk talk and drills. Come graduation day on Feb 26th you’ll have the confidence to step between the pipes on March 1st to begin your spring season.

Youth winter training/Clinics

West Chester Lacrosse Association FUTURES, Boys & Girls, Age 3-Kindergarten
The developmental Futures program focuses on lacrosse FUNdamentals including agility, footwork, and hand-eye coordination. The littlest lacrosse players will have a blast during our sessions that incorporate lacrosse skills with games that teach athletic coordination.
Winter Futures are held at Fern Hill Elementary School on Thursdays, January 3rd-February 7th, from 6 PM to 7 PM.

This four-week Play Fast Training is NXT’s fundamental-level program for boys who want to fine-tune their skills and elevate their game. Our professional, high-level coaches work directly with players through our the carefully-designed Play Fast curriculum to challenge all skill levels. Play Fast is designed to maximize quality reps, which is why there’s an 8-to-1 player-to-coach ratio. Players go through four 90-minute weekly sessions of fast-paced, high-energy drills, short lines and lots of small-sided games!

West Chester Lacrosse Association WINTER SKILLS CLINICS
​Boys, 1st-9th grade
Winter Skills Clinics are an instructional and fun lacrosse experience designed to hone skills and lacrosse IQ. Players are grouped by age and ability level to ensure productive sessions. The curriculum focuses on mastering stick skills and technique first, then progressing to competition.
Winter Skills Clinics are held at the Westtown School Athletic Center on Saturdays, January 5th- February 9th, from 3 PM to 6 PM.

Indoor Leagues

High School Winter Training League, by Black Bear Lacrosse, at the All Sports Center in Trappe for players in 9th and 10th grades.
The focus of the league is to allow high school programs in the area the opportunity to work with their freshman-sophomore players to develop their athletic skill sets as well as their team concepts. Each week 40 minutes is given to the high school program to work with their players skill development before playing in a 50 minute controlled game against another high school program or a “Free Agent” Team of mixed high school players.
SEVEN- 90 Minute sessions for your specific teams and “Free Agent” players
-40 minutes of Position-Specific & Team Training with your high school coaches (if signed up as a team) or from qualified Black Bear coaches.
-50 minute Controlled 7v7 Games (2-22 minute running halves)
When? Saturdays 6-7:30pm or 7:30-9pm January 5th, 19th, 26th; February 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd
* Every week players will be exposed to position-specific and team training from either their own high school coach or from a qualified Black Bear coach focusing on player development. Focus areas will include:
* Offense Shooting, Dodge, Pick & Roll, Field Vision, Fundamentals, & off ball exchanges.
* Defense On Ball Positioning, Sliding & Recovering, Communication, Footwork, Checking, & Off Ball Positioning.
* Goalies will be given Hands-On Goalie Instruction focusing on stance, footwork, Hand-Eye Coordination, Clearing, & Communication.

Winter Training

Blue Ox Boys Winter Training 2019. The Blue Ox Dodging and Shooting program will push an athlete to develop and perfect five key components to being a dynamic offensive player. Each component listed below will be covered throughout its six-week course on dynamic individual offensive play.
*This will be a demanding program and ONLY 10 Attack and Midfield players will be permitted into the training.
The Blue Ox Lacrosse lockdown defensive program will push an athlete to compete against local offensive players at their level of play. Defensive components will be covered in each session over a six week course.
*This will be a demanding program and ONLY 10 defensive players will be permitted into the training. Each week will provide a new challenge.
The Blue Ox Lacrosse goalie training will only permit 5 players. The first hour of every training session will focus on position specific drills and skills and the last half hour will put they learned in the session to the test against LIVE shooters of the same age. The training sessions will incorporate challenging drills both physically and mentally to push each goalie to strive for greatness. Drills consist of footwork, stick work, and hand eye coordination. The five key components are listed to the right.

Be Your Best Lacrosse 2019 summer camps for boys and girls in K through Grade 9 at Wissahickon Middle School.
Be Your Best Lacrosse Camp’s number one goal is to make each camper a better lacrosse player while having fun learning the game. The Camp believes the best way to achieve this goal is to have excellent staff-camper interaction while teaching the game.
