Fox (@HermitsLacrosse) named assistant at UNC

Will Fox (St. Augustine Prep), a 2018 graduate of Fairfield University, has joined the University of North Carolina men’s lacrosse staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

Fox graduated from Fairfield with a B.S. in psychology and a minor in health studies. He was a faceoff specialist for the Stags from 2015-18 and was a two-time second-team All-Colonial Athletic Association selection there in 2015 and 2016.

“I am so excited to join Coach Breschi and the men’s lacrosse program at the University of North Carolina,” Fox says. “The opportunity to join the Tar Heel family is an honor and I’m eager to work with and strengthen the team and myself and to continue the program’s winning history.”

Fox was drafted by the Chesapeake Bayhawks in the 2018 Supplemental Draft of Major League Lacrosse. That same year he was named a U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar All-America.

Fox is second all-time at Fairfield University in career face-off wins, face-off Win percentage, and ground balls. He also ranks eighth all-time in the CAA for career face-off wins and 12thball-time in the CAA for Career face-off winning percentage and ground balls.

“I’m extremely excited to add Will Fox to the Tar Heel coaching family as our volunteer assistant, with a specialty in face-offs and wing play,” says Breschi, who has mentored the Tar Heel program since 2008. “He’s an up-and-coming young coach who came highly recommended and continues to play professionally in Major League Lacrosse. His resume of success as a student and face-off specialist at Fairfield University is impressive as we continue to strengthen all areas of the UNC program for the 2019-20 season.”
