Downingtown East wins Shipley Fall League championship

Downingtown East claimed the Shipley Fall League championship on Oct. 27 with a 6-1 win over Central Bucks East in the title game.

Downingtown East Lacrosse went 6-1 in pool play and qualified for the four team playoff. In torrential rains, Downingtown East defeated its hometown rival, Downingtown West, 7-2, in the semifinals earlier that day.

The champions used face-off play from Nick Ericson (Cabrini) and outstanding goaltending from Nico Iacovino (Villanova) and a balanced, high-possession game to establish their leads.

Players included: Mike Waite, Bo Horvath, Bryson Kolinsky, Sam Barton, Evan Measel, Mike Flaharty, EJ Klunk, Dylan Kilroy, Jared Kolinsky, Luke Wetzel, Jude Milon, Alystair Hemburger, Jake Bryant, Jake Davidson, Jake Lackey, Nick Ericson, Andrew McCook, Connor Jorgensen, Mike Ostertag, Liam Quinn, and Nico Iacovino.
