Delaware junior attackman Charlie Kitchen (St. Augustine Prep) and Towson senior attackman Brendan Sunday were named the 2019 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men’s Lacrosse co-Offensive Players of the Year, while UMass senior goalkeeper Sean Sconone was tabbed the CAA Defensive Player of the Year and Minutemen head coach Greg Cannella the CAA Coach of the Year. Delaware attackman Tye Kurtz was voted the CAA Rookie of the Year.
Entering the CAA Championship, Kitchen is third in the conference with 60 points (35 goals, 25 assists), with his 4.29 points per game ranking directly behind Sunday. The junior recorded five or more points in seven of Delaware’s 14 games, including a nine-point effort with four goals and five assists on April 13. No. 12/12 Towson placed four players on the All-CAA First Team, followed by three apiece from No. 14/13 UMass and No. rv/rv Delaware. Drexel and Hofstra each had one played selected to the first team.
Senior midfielder Dean DiSmone (St. Augustine Prep, 24g, 11a, 14gb) and senior defenseman Austin Haynes (Moorestown, 42gb, 22ct) joined Kitchen as Blue Hens named First Team All-CAA. The trio were all selected to the first team in 2018 as well.
Drexel senior midfielder Marshal King (21g, 22a, 26gb) earned All-CAA First Team honors for the first time in his career.
