US Lacrosse has announced the process to select the team that will represent the United States in the 2019 Federation of International Lacrosse Women’s U19 World Championship. The world championship will be held August 1-10, 2019 in Peterborough, Canada.
An application to be considered for selection to the tryouts will be posted on the US Lacrosse web site (uslacrosse.org) the week of March 26. All applications are due by May 18, 2018.
A Player Identification Committee that includes US Lacrosse Women’s High Performance Committee Chair Anne Phillips, U.S U19 head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller, U19 assistant coaches Ann Elliott, Brooke Matthews, Angela McMahon, U19 team assistant manager Meredith Frank McGinnis, U.S. senior team head coach Jenny Levy and eight regional recruiting coordinators will determine the list of players invited to tryouts.
Invitations to tryouts will be sent out on June 15 and the tryouts will be held at US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md., from Aug. 10-12, 2018.
A Player Selection Committee consisting of Phillips, the current U19 team staff, two past U.S. U19 team coaches and eight regional evaluators from the high school and club ranks will work together to select the training team following the tryouts.
