From Press Release

Junior long stick midfielder Adam Maiale (La Salle) of The University of Scranton men’s lacrosse team had a big game in the Royals’ 14-7 win over King’s on Tuesday, March 6. As a result, he has been named the Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week for men’s lacrosse.

Adam Maiale
Maiale had one of the best defensive games in recent Royals’ memory. He finished with nine caused turnovers and seven ground balls, both career highs, as Scranton snapped a two-game losing streak. He had six caused turnovers in the first half as Scranton built a 6-3 lead. And he had three ground balls and two caused turnovers in the third period, when the Royals outscored the Monarchs, 6-1, to put the game away.

For the season, Maiale leads the team with 18 caused turnovers and is second with 26 ground balls. He also has one goal.

Maiale later earned another award as he gained a spot on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team of the Week, which honors the top performances by position across all three divisions of the NCAA each week.
