Abington High School

League: Suburban One – National

Coach: Mary Elizabeth Klepper, 1st year as head coach

Last year’s record: overall 15-7 last year, 14-4 in regular season, SOL American Conference Champions

Key returnees: Becca Gable, 11, defense; Kaley Enhow, 11, Midfield

Others to watch: Sam Simon, 11, Midfield; Abby Thomas, 11, Attack; Taheera Rodgers, 12, attack

Coach’s outlook for 2018 season: “With a large junior class, and key senior leaders, the Ghosts are ready to surprise a lot of people this year. With returning key players, as well as relentless underclassman, the Abington girls lacrosse team is here to do one thing… win. Our underclassman are solid, and follow the same high expectations as our upperclassman. Each member of our team understands that excellence must be a habit both on and off the field. We are ready to play our game, and have a successful season.”

Central Bucks South High School

League: Suburban One – National

Coach: Janique Craig – Head Coach 14 years, Sharon Hetrick Asst. Coach 2nd year

Last year’s record: 15-4, 2nd in league, Lost to Abington in 2nd Round of District Playoffs

Key returnees: Kasey Dietzel -12/M (Naval Academy Lacrosse), Anna Green (Cincinnati lacrosse) -11/M, Laura Robinson 12/GK, Sofia Sonnet 12/D, Fran Richick 11/M, Ashley Gammon 12/D

Others to watch: Olivia Himmelstein 11/D, Erin Mayeros 11/A, Deanna Bongarzone 12/A

Coach’s outlook for 2018 season: “We have a healthy mix of returning players and newer athletic players. As we play more together, it is neat to see how the team is starting to gel. This team is very coachable, loves to learn, works hard, and has a “team first” attitude. I am looking forward to seeing the team improve throughout the season.”
