From Press Release
Kevin Crowley (NCAA, MLL and NLL All-Star) is proud to announce the launch of Warhorse Lacrosse Club. The boys’ youth club offers premier and developmental levels of gameplay for families in the City of Philadelphia and the surrounding region.
Warhorse Lacrosse Club was established to provide the opportunity for young people to develop, improve, and showcase their lacrosse skills at an accessible price. The program, the first of its kind in Philadelphia, is designed to empower student athletes to showcase a hybrid brand of lacrosse that incorporates athletics, skill, and IQ at top tier regional and national events.
On his personal hopes in joining the organization and what his main contributions are, Crowley said, “I want to spread awareness of lacrosse in Philly and grow it to the point where young athletes in the city have access to the sport. Warhorse Lacrosse Club strives to be that medium to connect these future lacrosse players to the game. I look forward to volunteering my time with the organization to raise the skill level of these athletes and hopefully foster a love for the game that will carry them through their entire careers.”
Coach Crowley has been a standout in collegiate, professional, and international lacrosse. He is the only player to be drafted in the first round in both the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) and National Lacrosse League (NLL). He has been named to the All-Star roster in both NLL and MLL, and was the MLL MVP in 2013.
As a star player for Team Canada, Crowley helped the team win a World Championship in 2014 when he scored five of the first six goals and earned recognition as the game MVP. As a collegiate athlete, Crowley attended Stony Brook University where he holds the record for most points in school history, was a two-time first team All-American, D1 Midfielder of the Year, and Player of the Year.
Crowley also starred for the NLL Philadelphia Wings before they moved to New England four years ago and is a current standout with the Black Wolves while also starring for the Charlotte Hounds of the outdoor MLL.
Warhorse Lacrosse Club’s team of administrators and advisors include Matt Rambo (2017 Tewaaraton Award Winner and 2017 NCAA National Champion with University of Maryland, Phillylacrosse.com Player of the Year for state champion La Salle in 2013, current Philadelphia Wing); Avery Amaya, the Chief Revenue Officer at Workarea Commerce; and Robin-Renee Allbritton, a counselor at Temple University, who holds Master’s Degrees in Urban Education and Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.
Warhorse Lacrosse Club operates as a program under The Re-Education Foundation (TREF), a federal tax exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Philadelphia, PA, with a mission to provide nontraditional activities to youth and young adults from under-served communities, with the hope of enhancing their views on career paths.
