From Press Release

Five outstanding leaders will serve as captains for the University of Pennsylvania women’s lacrosse team this season as head coach Karin Corbett announced the selection of Alex Condon, Katie Cromie, Caroline Cummings, Mo Leitner and Natalie Stefan as captains for 2018.

“We’ve established a tradition of excellence in this program, and this group of captains has had the opportunity to learn from great leaders during their first three years in a Penn uniform,” said Corbett. “Now, it is their turn to lead. They each have different and dynamic leadership skillsets, but the same common goal – doing everything they can to ensure this team reaches its potential. I am excited to work with them as we prepare for the 2018 season.”

The five members of the senior class have been a part of two Ivy League championships, three NCAA Tournament appearances and three Ivy League Tournaments during their tenures in University City. Success is not optional while wearing the Red and Blue, and this quintet understands the lineage they are now a part of.

Quoting The Captains…

“Being named a captain is a huge honor and a great opportunity for us to uphold the tradition of excellence the Penn Women’s Lacrosse program is known for. We are each unique in terms of how we play and how we lead, but we are of a singular mind when it comes to our goals – we want to win and we want to make those who’ve come before us proud of the team on the field.” – Alex Condon

“I am honored to be named captain and excited to lead this team with my fellow co-captains. I am confident that we can follow the example of our coaching staff and the great leaders and mentors we have had to this point to work towards another Ivy League championship and deep NCAA Tournament run.” – Katie Cromie

“I am honored to be named a captain alongside the other seniors. I am excited to help lead this team to another successful season. I have a lot of faith in this team, we are a talented group with high goals and I am looking forward to seeing what we can do.” – Caroline Cummings

“To be named a captain for this team is a huge honor and being able to share this as a senior class makes it all the more meaningful. The five of us each bring something different and special to the equation, while all working hard to make this team the best it can be. To receive this honor right before the start of season will add a great spark for each of us to continue bringing the best out of each other and this team. We are looking forward to leading this team to an exciting season together.” – Mo Leitner

“It is an honor to be named a captain of a program with such a rich history of success. As my senior year begins, I feel lucky to be a part of this team. I cannot thank my coaches enough for giving me and my co-captains the opportunity to lead a program that has given us so much.” – Natalie Stefan
