Rob Forster, who built Academy of the New Church into a prep power, has been named an assistant at the University of Pennsylvania, head coach Mike Murphy announced today.
Forster, a former La Salle College High and Penn State great, had a 76-20 record at ANC over 5 years. He guided the Lions to five straight Friends Schools League championships and a berth in the semifinals of the inaugural Victory Events National Prep Championships in 2018.
Forster has been replaced at ANC by his brother and top assistant, Jack.
Forster also is serving as head coach of the HEADstrong Quakers 2022 and 2025-26 teams.
Forster served as the offensive coordinator for La Salle in 2012-13, helping the Explorers win the 2013 PIAA championship. He was a high school All-American at La Salle in 2005 and led the Explorers to their first of four state titles in 2004. He was La Salle’s JV head coach (2010-11) after starring as an attackman at Penn State.
Forster also was an 8th Grade coach for the HEADstrong North program in 2012 and and has coached with NXT and PYLA
Forster co-founded the Dukes Young Guns with Jack Forster.
