Methacton 2018 midfield/defender Julie Byrne has signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I lacrosse at University of California at Davis.

Lacrosse honors: 2016 Varsity Rookie MVP, 2017 Varsity Defensive MVP, 2017 First Team Liberty Division, 2017 Mercury All-Area Second Team, Member of Brine NLC-Finalist Team PA, 2017 PASLA All-Academic Team

Academic honors/community service: Peer buddy and President of Best Buddies, buildOn member, National Honors Society, Student Ambassador

Expected major: Managerial Economics

Why did you choose UC Davis? “UC Davis is a big school with tons of opportunities. It has the college town atmosphere, great academics, a competitive lacrosse program, and a uniqueness about the school that I fell in love with. And of course there’s tons of guacamole out in California!”

HS team’s 2018 outlook: “We hope to focus on one game at a time, proving ourselves in the PAC and having another good run in districts.”

Thank You: “A big thanks to all of my lacrosse coaches, especially my high school coach, Coach Markle, and all of the Dynamite coaches. I would also like to thank all of my track coaches and the whole team at Overacheive Sports and Speed, I have become a much better athlete thanks to them.
