Dickinson senior Tucker Carney (Strath Haven) has been named a 2018 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-Americans, announced this week.
Also earning Scholar AA for Dickinson were Seniors Ryan Campbell (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fairhaven), and Tyler Strods (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) were all recognized.
Carney was named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team this spring, earning All-Conference honors on attack in 2017 while also being named the Scholar Athlete of the Year. He ranked third on the team in scoring with 31 goals and 24 assists this season. He led the way in the Devils’ NCAA match-up against Lynchburg, scoring four goals. Carney was a three-time member of the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, holding cumulative grade-point-average above a 3.4 through his sophomore, junior and senior seasons.
The Red Devils were nationally ranked all season and broke programs records with 288 goals, 166 assists and 454 points on the year. They finished with an overall record of 17-4 and claimed the program’s fourth Centennial Conference Championship with a pair of thrilling wins over nationally ranked rivals Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg.
The Red Devils produced a remarkable nine All-Conference selections and had eight players receive All-America recognition.
