From Press Release
Hofstra senior midfielder Dylan Alderman (Bishop Shanahan) and Fairfield senior faceoff specialist Will Fox (St. Augustine Prep) were selected to the 2018 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division I Men’s Lacrosse Scholar All-America team.
A finance major and frequent member of the Dean’s List at Hofstra, Alderman is a four-time CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award recipient. He was one of 20 candidates nationally for the Senior CLASS Award.
Alderman was chosen to the All-CAA second team in 2018 after picking up first team accolades in 2017. Slowed by a leg injury that saw him miss four games this season, he tallied 14 goals and 13 assists in 10 games. Alderman posted four multi-goal games in 2018. He recorded a career-high five assists and tied his career-best with seven points in a win at Stony Brook. Alderman was selected to play in the USILA North-South Senior All-Star game in May and was also a CAA All-Rookie Team selection in 2015.
Fox, who is just the sixth USILA Scholar All-American in Fairfield history, earned a degree in Psychology as a consistent Dean’s List student. He was one of 20 candidates nationally for the Senior CLASS Award, and also collected All-Academic laurels from the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) in 2018.
A four-year starter for the Stags, Fox was one of the top faceoff men in program history. His .555 win percentage, 503 faceoff wins and 220 ground balls all rank second on the career charts. Fox owns three of the 10 best single-season marks on the draw, and his 78 ground balls this past spring are the sixth-most in program history. Throughout his career, he was a two-time All-CAA Second Team selection and the 2015 CAA Rookie of the Year.
Alderman and Fox were two of 48 student-athletes recognized on the team.
