Maple Zone and and Heritage Lacrosse are pleased to offer two brand new summer indoor modified box lacrosse leagues – college and scholastic – with formats specifically designed to promote safe and fast play based on key box lacrosse fundamentals and concepts.
This adult league is primarily designed for college players home for summer break who are interested in playing fun, safe lacrosse to keep their game “tuned up” before they return to campus for field lax. For the high school players, this offers a chance to continue to improve your skills and have some fun in a fast-paced and safe environment.
The modified box rules benefit all lacrosse players. Attackmen and midfielders will learn to operate in tight spaces improving stick skills, passing and shooting accuracy. Long sticks are not allowed so all players will learn to play with their body and feet, improving approach and angle play. Goalies will work on proper box goaltending techniques, including positioning, angles, baiting, etc.

WHY PLAY BOX LACROSSE?
“American field players would really help themselves if they were exposed to a steady stream of box experience. Box lacrosse is an extremely valuable background for a young player, we need to incorporate more of the indoor skills in to the field game. It is almost a requirement to have a top player with indoor experience on your roster right now.”
– Former UVA head coach Dom Starsia
“Every Kid Should Play Box Lacrosse”
– John Desko, Head Coach Syracuse University
“If I had my choice, I would have every player under the age of 12 play box lacrosse exclusively or at least a majority of the time.”
– Bill Tierney, Denver University
