Phillylacrosse Boys’ Rankings: No. 3 @Stoga_Lax hosts No. 6 @sprlax Tuesday in Central League opener

The Phillylacrosse.com Boys’ Rankings:

1. Malvern Prep (2-0) Prev: No. 1: The Friars opened with big wins over Calvert Hall-MD, 13-7, and Garnet Valley, 15-6, and host St. Joseph’s Prep on Tuesday.

2. Haverford School (1-2) Prev: No. 2: The Fords stunned many with their memorable 8-7 double OT win over Culver Academy.

3. Conestoga (1-0) Prev: No. 5:The Pioneers opened Friday with a sizzling overtime win over MIAA power Calvert Hall; they host defending state champion Springfield-Delco Tuesday afternoon in an early-season Central League showdown.

4. La Salle (1-0) Prev: No. 3: The Explorers looked strong in their 10-5 opening-day win over Springside Chestnut Hill Academy.

5. Garnet Valley (0-1) Prev: No. 4:The Jags look to rebound from their 15-6 loss to No. 1 Malvern Prep Tuesday when they open Central League play at Penncrest.

6. Springfield-Delco (0-1) Prev: No. 6: The Cougars, after a tough 13-4 loss to the MIAA’s Boys’ Latin, open Central League play Tuesday afternoon at No. 4 Conestoga.

7. Salesianum School-DE (1-0) Prev: No. 7: The Sals claimed an 11-8 win over Sts Peter & Paul (MD) and now gear for a battle Thursday against powerful Hill Academy (ONT).

8. Strath Haven (2-0) Prev: No. 8: The Panthers opened with two wins, 13-8 over Penn Charter and 10-7 over Henderson.

9. St. Augustine Prep (0-0) Prev: No. 9: The Hermits open Wednesday at NJ prep power Pingry School.

10. Avon Grove (0-0) Prev: No. 10: The Red Devils Open today with a non-league game against Upper Dublin.

11. Manheim Township (0-1) Prev: No. 12: The Blue Streaks dropped a respectable 12-7 decision to MIAA power Loyola Blakefield.

12. Bishop Shanahan (2-0) Prev: No. 13: The Eagles opened with wins over Lower Merion, 13-2, and Calverton (MD), 11-6.

13. Moorestown-NJ (0-0) Prev: No. 14 The Quakers open Wednesday vs. Somerville.

14. St. Joseph’s Prep (0-0) Prev: NR: The Hawks have a tough opener Tuesday at No. 1 Malvern Prep.

15. Ridley (1-0) Prev: NR: The Raiders won their opener, 14-7 over Great Valley, in the coachign debut of Rory Friel.
