A new school year brings new additions to the University of Pennsylvania women’s lacrosse program as the defending Ivy League champions add 12 freshmen for the 2018 season.
“It is an exciting time to be a part of the Penn Women’s Lacrosse program,” head coach Karin Corbett said. “And we cannot wait to add this talented group to our team when we begin fall practices. We are proud to welcome these successful young women to the championship tradition that this program has built over the last decade. Each has the talent to leave a lasting legacy on Penn Women’s Lacrosse.”
Class Notes
• Eight of the 12 members of the Class of 2021 earned All-American honors during their high school careers
• The group combined for seven state championships, 24 league championships, and 10 regional/district championships in high school
• 10 members of the Class of 2021 served as team captain for the high school programs
• Five newcomers play attack, four play midfield and three are defenders
• New York produced the most members of the Class of 2021 with three. Maryland and Pennsylvania each are home to a pair of newcomers, while California, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey and Virginia each produced one.
