Andrew Albertson won an amazing 26 of 27 faceoffs while Greg Santa-Anna, Ryan Geroulo and Luke Summers each scored three goals as host Parkland defeated Emmaus, 15-9, Thursday night for the District 11 Class AAA championship.
It was the first district crown for the Trojans, who improved to 21-1. The Trojans advance to the PIAA tournament, where they’ll meet Central Bucks East, the fourth-place team from District 1, at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Northampton.
Parkland seized control when it scored three straight goals (two by Santa-Anna) in the final 1:43 of the second quarter and took a 10-7 halftime lead.
Emmaus scored the first goal of the third quarter, but Parkland scored the next five.
The game endured two 30-minute delays due to lightning/thunder. The first delay happened midway through the second quarter and the next extended the halftime intermission.
Tyler Corpora paced Emmaus (13-9) with three scores.
