Third-period goals by Ben Cantwell and Frankie Labetti broke a 5-5 tie and Liam Peck was clutch with 15 saves as Moorestown defeated Summit, 7-6, Wednesday at Shore Regional High to claim the New Jersey Group 3 state championship.
Moorestown (17-3, No. 12 in the Phillylacrosse.com Rankings) won its first state title since 2011 and advances to the Tournament of Champions. The pairings will be made after the conclusion of tonight’s Group and Non-Public championships.
Quinn Willis added two goals for Moorestown and Will Corbi had a goal and three assists.
