The Lafayette women’s lacrosse team led the Patriot League with 27 of its members selected to the Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Junior Dana Smith tied for the team lead in grade-point average, finishing up her third year on College Hill with a 3.93 mark. Sophomore Kayla Guerin was the other with a 3.93 GPA as an International Affairs major.

To be eligible for the spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s winter or spring championship sports.

Following a tremendous season on the field, the Lehigh was recognized for its success in the classroom, as 17 Mountain Hawks were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.Among Lehigh’s honorees was junior Kayleen Kelly, who posted a perfect 4.0 GPA as an Industrial and Systems Engineering major.

Lehigh finished fourth in the league with its 17 honorees. Seven Mountain Hawks recorded a GPA of 3.50 or higher. Behind Kelly was senior Allison LaBeau with a 3.91 (Journalism), freshman Christine Balestra (Perkiomen Valley) with a 3.86 (Business), junior Kelly McBrearty with a 3.78 (Finance), senior Julianne D’Orazio (Merion Mercy) with a 3.60 (Economics), freshman Alexandra Ladda (Harriton) with a 3.57 (Arts and Sciences) and junior Elizabeth Nussbaum with a 3.50 (Global Studies).
