From Press Release

Following a career night in last Friday’s road win, James Madison junior midfielder Haley Warden (Garnet Valley) was named Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Lacrosse Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

In JMU’s 17-9 triumph at Hofstra, Warden led the offensive charge with a career-high six goals, to go with six draw controls, which was one shy of her personal best. Warden also tied her career mark with two free-position goals.

The Glen Mills, Pa., native tied her career high for goals in the first half alone, tallying her first four scores in a span of 10:35 to help the Dukes build a commanding 11-4 lead at halftime. Her six draw-control wins led all players, and it marked the fifth time this season she accrued at least five draws.

In the win, Warden moved into a tie for eighth on JMU’s single-season list for draw controls (48). She needs just three more draws to enter the program’s career top 10, as she stands at 116 in 55 career outings. The midfielder has also produced 38 caused turnovers in 2017, which is three shy of tying the single-season record.

Warden, who has been recognized now with three CAA weekly awards, shared the accolade with Hofstra’s Alyssa Parrella, who tallied nine goals, three assists and 18 hustle stats in the Pride’s split with JMU and Towson.

Winners of four in a row, the Dukes are atop the conference standings at 10-5 overall and 4-0 in CAA play. They close the regular season this week with a pair of road games at Drexel (April 21) and at Delaware (April 23).
