From Press Release
The Salisbury University men’s lacrosse team defeated Rochester Institute of Technology, 15-7, to win the program’s 12 national title Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
It is Salisbury’s second title in as many years and moves the Gulls all-time record at Gillette Stadium to 3-0 with all three wins coming in the title game.
Salisbury (22-1) was led on the defensive end by junior All-American Kyle Tucker (Downingtown East), who had five groundballs and helped limit a potent Tigers (20-3) attack that had scored at least 13 goals in 15 straight games, all wins.
At the face-off X, T.J. Logue (Salesianum School) won 6 of 11 draws and had one goal, two groundballs and a caused turnover.
The Sea Gulls were led offensively by Kevin McDermott and Carson Kalama. McDermott posted a career high in points with four from one goal and three assists and Kalama made his presence felt by posting four goals and one assist for four points. Also coming up big on the offensive end was Josh Melton as the freshman posted his frist-career hat trick.
Colin Reymann made 12 stops in cage and in front of him Cory Berry posted three caused turnovers.
