From Press Release

Black Bear LC is proud to announce the addition of Coach Blase Cesarone to the Club for the 2017-18 season.

Blase Cesarone

Cesarone, a Gwynedd Mercy University and Daniel Boone grad, finished his first season as the Head Varsity Coach at Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford in 2017, leading the team to a 7-8 overall record and the program’s first even District 1 playoff berth after a 2-16 season in 2016. That improvement was very evident to Black Bear Director and Perkiomen Valley Varsity Head Coach Bryan Churchey, who noticed a change in the mentality of the Golden Panthers lacrosse team.

“We are extremely excited to have someone like Blase join our club,” Said Churchey. “Blase is a young, passionate, and knowledgeable coach who cares deeply about his players overall development and building his kids into great young men. He is focused on the community and building PJPII into a respected program.

“We are blessed to have him.” Blase brings his passion and dedication to an already highly qualified staff that now features FIVE varsity high school head coaches and FOUR high school assistant coaches. Black Bear is known for bringing in only the most qualified and passionate coaches to take our players to the next level.

PJPII Principal Jim Meredith felt the same way, “It is evident that Blase brings a record of leadership, energy, enthusiasm, and the right experience to this position. He is well-suited to lead our lacrosse program.”

Coach Cesarone will be taking over the Black Bear 2022 team for the 2017-18 season, tryouts are set for August 5th and 6th CLICK HERE to to see a full story on the tryouts.
