Archbishop Carroll head coach Lorraine Beers teamed with 2018 Carroll standout Katie Detwiler and former Agnes Irwin standout Sarah Platt (assistant coach, UVA 2020) on the championship team at the Epoch ILWomen Committed Academy at Goucher College on Sunday.
Beers and Platt guided the Wave to the 2018 crown as it toppled Frost, 11-8, in the finale. Detwiler, a Loyola commit and key player on Carroll’s PIAA Class AAA championship team, was one of the standouts.
Other key players on the team were Murphy McDonough (Norwell-MA/Navy), Madeline Podaras (North Shore-NY/Lafayette), Jennifer Medjid (Garden City-NY/Boston College), Kelly Sullivan (Half Hollow Hills West-NY/Lafayette), D.A. Coss (Bishop Sullivan Catholic-MD/Loyola), Courtney Weeks (Bayport-Blue Point, NY/Boston College), Cassidy Weeks (Bayport-Blue Point-NY/Boston College), Caitlynn Mossman (Notre Dame Prep-MD/Boston College) and goalkeepers Lindsey Ellison (St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes-VA/Navy) and Abbigale Young (Carondelet-CA/Navy).
