The Villanova men’s lacrosse team has set a new program best national ranking this week. In the USILA the Wildcats are now No. 5 and No. 6 in the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll.
For the last two weeks Villanova has been ranked No. 6 in the USILA Coaches Poll; this broke the former program record set on March 21st, 2011 when the Wildcats were ranked No. 7 in the USILA.
Villanova is riding a six-game winning streak with wins over Penn State, Drexel, Delaware, Penn, Bucknell, and Fairfield. Additionally, Jake Froccaro ranks 1st in the NCAA averaging 4.29 goals and fifth in points per game with 5. Faceoff specialist Luke Palmadesso is averaging 7.86 ground balls per game which is third best in the NCAA.
Tomorrow No. 5 Villanova will host No. 3 Brown for a Tuesday afternoon matchup that will be the highest ranked game ever played in Villanova Stadium. Game time is slated for 4 P.M.
