Phillylacrosse Girls’ Rankings: District 1 tourney opens Tuesday

The Phillylacrosse.com Girls’ Rankings:

1. Archbishop Carroll (17-3) Prev. No. 11:The Patriots get the nod as the No. 1 team based on their recent win over Agnes Irwin and losses by all other teams in the previous Top 10. They won their 16th straight Catholic League title Monday by defeating Archbishop Wood.

2. Agnes Irwin (15-5) Prev. No. 3: The Owls can clinch a third straight Inter-Ac League title by defeating Penn Charter (Tuesday) and Baldwin School (Wednesday).

3. Radnor (12-6) Prev: No. 10:The Raiders have the No. 9 seed in District 1 and host Mount St. Joseph in the first round on Tuesday.

5. Conestoga (16-0) Prev. No. 1: The Pioneers won the Ches-Mont League title and enter the District 1 tourney as the No. 1 seed. They host Bayard Rustin Tuesday in the first round.

4. Garnet Valley (13-4-1) Prev. No. 6: The Jaguars – struggling with a 1-3-1 mark in their last five games – have the No. 4 seed in Districts and host Kennett Tuesday in the first round.

6. Moorestown-NJ (15-5) Prev. No. 4: The Quakers dealt Shawnee its first loss, 7-6, and also downed Lawrenceville School, 14-10, before bowing to Suffern, 9-7.

7. Episcopal Academy (18-5) Prev. No. 7 EA needs Agnes Irwin to get upset in order to force a tie atop the Inter-Ac League race.

8. Shawnee-NJ (17-1) Prev. No. 8: The Renegades suffered their first loss, 7-6, to rival Moorestown and close their regular season today vs. Lenape.

9. Bishop Shanahan (14-4),

10. Owen J. Roberts (17-3),

11. Cape Henlopen-DE (12-1) Prev. No. 9: The Vikings host St. Andrew’s today.

12. Downingtown East (15-3) Prev. No. 15: The Ches-Mont League champion Cougars downed Great Valley in overtime to win the league title and have the No. 7 seed in District 1. They host Council Rock North in Tuesday’s first round.

13. Harriton (14-4) Prev. No. 12: The Rams have the No. 5 seed in District 1 and host Ridley Tuesday in the first round.

14.(tie) Great Valley (14-4) Prev. No. 5:The Patriots have the third seed in District 1 and host Wissahickon Tuesday in the first round.

14. (tie) Springfield-Delco (16-2) Prev. No. 2:The Cougars, despite a loss to Harriton, have the second seed in the District 1 tourney and host Gwynedd Mercy Tuesday in the first round.

14. (tie) Penn Charter (12-4) Prev. No. 13: The Quakers look to be a spoiler Tuesday when they face first-place Agnes Irwin.

14. (tie) Academy of Notre Dame (11-7) Prev: No. 13: The Irish host Springside Chesnut Hill on Tuesday.
