The University of Pennsylvania men’s lacrosse team dominated the first half against visiting Penn State, building a 7-1 lead at the break. That lead was enough for the Quakers, as they knocked off the 20th-ranked Nittany Lions in an 11-7 win at Franklin Field.
Reilly Hupfeldt (Haverford School) had three goals in the win, leading all Penn scorers. Tyler Dunn and Connor Keating (Haverford School) added secondary scoring with two goals apiece.
Reed Junkin was big in goal for the Quakers, making 15 saves — including seven in the second half to protect the lead. Noah Lejman (Haverford School) had three groundballs.
For Penn State, TJ Sanders had three goals and Nick Aponte had two goals and an assist while Grant Ament (Haverford School) scored once.
