Ben Garcia

High School: Germantown Academy

Graduation Year: 2018

College Choice: University of Hartford

What will you major in/study? Business

Why did you choose this school? “After visiting many different schools, I knew that Hartford was the best fit for me academically and athletically. I really felt welcomed by the coaching staff and the campus made me feel at home. I believe Coach (Ryan) Martin’s vision of this program is taking them in the right direction following an America East title. I am really excited for what the future of Hawks lacrosse holds.”

Outlook for 2017 HS season? “With only losing three seniors, GA should be poised to make some noise in the highly competitive Inter-Ac League. We have a lot of returning players and I’m excited for what the 2017 season has to offer. As it is every year, our goal is an Inter-Ac championship.”

People to thank: “I want to thank my mom, my dad, and my brothers for all the support they gave me. I also want to thank all my GA coaches, especially Brian Grady, for all they have done to help me get better and to help me in this process. In addition I want to thank all my Dukes coaches, especially coaches Ebe Helm and Jason Christmas, who have guided me throughout the process and gave me the best exposure. Lastly, I want to thank Coach Martin and Coach Cimini at Hartford for giving me the opportunity to continue my career as a student-athlete.”

Other schools considered: Syracuse, Albany, Colgate, Providence, St. Joes, Salisbury
