Moorestown (N.J.) 2020 midfielder Avery Jaffe has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Maryland.

What will you major in/study? Undecided

Why did you choose this school? “I chose The University of Maryland because it has many majors to choose from, a beautiful campus, and the location is a perfect fit for where I want to be. When I first visited the school, I instantly felt at home and comfortable with the coaches, and the team. Maryland has so much school spirit and pride when it comes to athletics. I am so excited to get to play for this amazing team, and be a part of the family.”

HS team’s outlook for 2017 season? “The Moorestown High School Girls Lacrosse Team continues to always train hard, and be a very strong lacrosse team.”

People to thank: “I would like to thank my mom, and my step dad, Ron, for taking me to numerous tournaments, camps, trainings, and for giving me the support that kept me going. Thank you to my sister Sam, for always being a great role model, and teaching me everything about lacrosse. I am so fortunate to be able to watch her play at Stony Brook, and incorporate that into my game. Thank you to my coach, Katie Lee from All American Aim, for helping me get to where I am today, and for taking the time to teach me, and help me with the recruiting process. Thank you to my South Jersey Select Coach, K.C. Knobloch for training me to play at the next level, and for believing in me all the time.”
