The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association recognized five Explorers on the women’s lacrosse team for their outstanding academic achievements during the 2015-16 school year. Nicole Black, Anna Kelly, Kiara Lynch, Toni Massetti and Kerry Newby were the honorees placed on the IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Roll.
In order to be recognized for the award, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Black, Kelly, Lynch (Archbishop Wood), Massetti (Kennett) and Newby (Archbishop Carroll) were five of 32 female lacrosse players recognized by the IWLCA in the Atlantic 10. Additionally, all five were placed on the Atlantic 10 Commissioners Honor Roll for their academic achievements in the 2015-16 season. Newby and Kelly were also named to the Academic All-Atlantic 10 team.
La Salle was also awarded the IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honors for the 2015-16 academic school year for posting a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Explorer’s women’s lacrosse team was one of six Atlantic 10 schools to be recognized by the IWLCA this year.
