The U.S. team won the gold in dramatic fashion, as host Canada scored the first six goals in Saturday’s final, led 8-2 at halftime and 11-8 after three quarters. However, the U.S. came all the way back and took its only lead with just eight seconds left to win the championship for the eighth time.

Penn’s Associate Head Coach, Patrick Myers, was an assistant coach for this team which went unbeaten through its six games in the tournament. Among the players, Alex Roesner finished seventh among all players in the tournament with 18 goals and 13th among tourney players with 22 points. Simon Mathias finished with nine goals and six assists for 15 points, while Tyler Dunn scored four goals and added an assist for five points. Defenseman Noah Lejman (Haverford School) also played in all six games for the U.S.

In the final, Mathias had two goals and an assist, with the assist coming on the winning goal. Roesner also scored twice.
