“I am excited to welcome Maddison to the Bryant women’s lacrosse family as our defensive coordinator,” said Batcheller. “Maddy’s positive energy and competitiveness correspond perfectly with the culture of our program.”

With Phantastix Lacrosse, Lesher helped educate youth players on fundamentals, instructed defensive techniques and advanced stick work. During her time with Seven Lacrosse Training, she led social media efforts to gain awareness for clinics and served as a communication liaison dealing with both players and parents.

“It is an honor to join Bryant and such a great program with an amazing head coach in Jill Batcheller,” said Lesher. “I bring first-hand experience and knowledge of what it takes to be an individual contributor and a team player. Jill and I share the same passion for the sport and are strongly competitive. I am excited to coach these amazing athletes on and off the field and thrilled to join the Bryant family.”

A 2016 graduate of Loyola University Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a specialization in advertising and public relations, Lesher comes to Bryant following an outstanding four-year playing career.

She is considered the most decorated Greyhound defender in school history, having been the Patriot League’s first-ever three-time Defensive Player of the Year, a two-time Tewaaraton Award Watch List member and a three-time defensive All-American. On the field, Lesher corralled 167 groundballs, caused 109 turnovers and won 41 draw controls over her four years, and was drafted by the Baltimore Ride in the United Women’s Lacrosse League draft in May.

“Her knowledge of the game, from her decorated collegiate playing experience and as a member of the professional lacrosse league, will be a monumental asset to coach our girls and continue to progress this team forward,” said Batcheller.

Lesher also was an First-Team defender.

Thoughts from Jen Adams – Head coach at Loyola: “Maddy will make an outstanding addition to the Bryant women’s lacrosse program and coaching staff. The Bulldogs are very fortunate to have such a talented, energetic, passionate and dedicated coach in their corner. I am excited to follow Maddy through the next chapter of what I know will be a very successful college lacrosse coaching career.”
