From Press Release
Loyola University Maryland women’s lacrosse head coach Jen Adams has announced that senior Maddy Blakeman and redshirt junior Katrina Geiger (Haverford High) will serve as captains for the 2016 season.
“I am extremely excited to announce our captains for the 2016 season,” Adams said. “Katrina and Maddy have such contrasting leadership traits that together, they provide our team with immeasurable balance and depth.
“As a coach, you are always looking for people who serve their team selflessly, with passion and a clear vision. I am very confident that Katrina and Maddy will help lead our team to a successful season both on and off the field.”
Adams also announced that senior Maddy Lesher (Archbishop Carroll), senior Molly Wolf and junior Bailey Mathis will join with Blakeman and Geiger to form the team’s leadership council.
“With such a youthful roster this year, we saw an opportunity to tap into the unique leadership qualities of some of our veteran players,” Adams said. “This specific group will aid the captains in working to achieve a full 360-degree leadership, while continuing to develop their personal skill set throughout the season.”
