A group of girls from Ultimate Goal Lacrosse Club won its pool Saturday at the 6th Annual Lax 4 Maggie 4v4 hosted by Drexel University’s Women’s Lacrosse Team.

The Ultimate team was comprised of four field players – Haley Adam (Ridley), Maeve Heckard (Lansdale Catholic), Kylie Hubiak (Exeter), Emily Wills (Agnes Irwin) and a goalie, C. Lauren Avery (Agnes Irwin) – and won all of its games, scoring 44 goals and allowing 14 goals in short field games.
Other teams in the Pool were Aftershock, Haverford, and Penncrest from the Philadelphia Area and LBC and Rockville from Maryland.
The event, held at Vidas Field, featured high school and middle school teams. It honored the memory of Maggie Medvitz, who Drexel adopted from the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. Maggie passed away following a courageous battle with brain cancer and since then Drexel has raised over $15,000 for the foundation.
The day was best summed up by Emily Wills, “It was a fun day of lacrosse for a great cause! Today was about 2 things that should be important to everyone – scholarships for a better education and lacrosse.”
