Dan Doktor scored three goals Sunday to lead SweetLax (N.Y.) to a 13-0 victory over Twist in the 2016 Liberty Bell Challenge title game at Germantown Academy.
Max Lambert scored twice for SweetLax and while Jason Feinberg, Brendan Ryan, Devon Sullivan, Pete Dearth, Jack Kaufman and Travis Ford also scored once as SweetLax bolted to a 10-0 halftime lead and continued to dominate.
“I thought we really played well together,” said Doktor, an uncommitted attackman who attends Irondequoit High School in Rochester and is considering several top NESCAC schools.
SweetLax, which went 6-0 during the tournament run by the Passport Alliance, gained momentum with every win, according to D.T. Benedict, one of two head coaches. Benedict said several are being recruited by high level Division I and Division II programs.
“We improved with every game,” Benedict said. “We’ve got a few new players on this team, and I think it took a little while for everyone to figure things out.”
SweetLax won Pool 1, claiming a key 10-7 win over Dukes I on Saturday night.
Twist won Pool 2 with the help of a key 8-5 win over Team Carolina.
