STEPS Philadelphia girls’ HS roundup: Downingtown East deals Carroll its first loss; Wissahickon wins

Tori Barrett pumped in seven goals as Downingtown East defeated Archbishop Carroll, 12-11, Monday, dealing the Patriots their first loss of the year.

Abby Savidge added two goals for Downingtown East.

Avery Murphy collected seven goals and three assists for the Patriots and Isabelle Schmitt had two goals and two assists.

Wissahickon 14, Hatboro-Horsham 12

The Trojans set up a Suburban One American Conference championship game Wednesday with Abington by topping the Hatters.

Wissahickon and Abington are 8-0 in the conference and play at Abington.

Carolyn Wilde led the Trojans (14-3) with five goals and an assist and Emily Vervlied had three goals and five assists.

Carly Daley and Casey Swezey (seven draws) each had four goals for the Hatters (8-8, 6-2).

Agnes Irwin 16, Springside Chestmut Hill Academy 11

Hannah Keating fired seven goals and Olivia Carey chipped in a career-high four goals and one assist to lead the first-place Owls (16-1, 8-1) over visiting Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, 16-11, in an Inter-Ac matchup.

Laura Pansini recorded four points on three goals and an assist and Kate White added a goal, five draw controls, and two ground balls for the Owls. Goalie Hailey Andress stopped seven shots and picked up two ground balls to earn her 16th win.

Maddy Aslansan and Mason Rode each scored four goals for SCHA (7-9, 5-4).

Upper Dublin 11, Plymouth-Whitemarsh 10

Julie Cross had six goals and 10 draw controls while Hannah Reape scored four goals for the Cardinals.

Sophie Kolkka had three goals for PW while Kirsten Monte and Ali Diamond each had two goals and two assists for PW.

Jenkintown 17, Penn Wood 4

Emma Dorshimer had seven goals and an assist and scored her 200th career goals for the Drakes.

Moorestown 16, Hunterdon Central 6

Quinn Nicolai led Moorestown with three goals.
