The Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation is gearing up for the fourth annual Fall Ball Shootout on Saturday at Hatboro-Horsham High.ETC 2

The fundraising event, which, since its inception has benefited the Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center at Boston University, will feature 10 Division I, II and III men’s teams and three Division I women’s teams.

Admission is $5 per person.

A youth skills building clinic is new for this year’s event. Joey Sankey – a former Penn Charter great who played with Eddie Coombs as a member of Rebel Elite lacrosse – of the Charlotte Hounds Major League Lacrosse team will lead the clinic.

The clinic is geared for middle school boys in fifth- through eighth-grades and will serve as an all-around skills clinic.

Sankey was the ninth overall pick in the 2015 MLL draft, 2015 MLL rookie of the year and team leader in points during his rookie season. Sankey is ranked first as UNC’s all time points leader and is a three-time All American.

Cost for the clinic is $5, which includes admission to the Oct. 10 tournament as well as a pinney. Attendees are asked to bring their stick, gloves and helmet. Registration for the clinic begins at 8:45 a.m. For additional information email Erin at

“The ETC Foundation was established with the intent of providing outstanding scholar/athletes financial assistance to pursue their higher education goals, so that they can reach their full potential. The scholarships will support visionary leaders of tomorrow who display exceptional promise today. A second goal of the Foundation is to work with high school students around the issues of “responsible decision making” through seminars, forums, videos and other education programs. Whether we are discussing safe and healthy peer relationships, appropriate usage of “social media”, as well as the consequences of drinking and driving, the ETC Foundation hopes to be on the front line of teenage and young adult education and empowerment.

“The ETC Foundation strives to spread this mission in the legacy of (Hatboro-Horsham alum and former Marist College lacrosse player) Edward Taylor Coombs, an academically gifted and athletically talented young man with an easy smile and huge heart.”
