Philly @UALacrosse roundup: Sowers (U. Dublin), Feliziani (Episcopal Academy) leads boys

Michael Sowers (Upper Dublin) had two goals and an assist while Christian Feliziani (Episcopal Academy) won 11 of 16 face-offs and Kyle Mullin (Bayard Rustin) had eight saves to lead Team Philadelphia to a 10-6 win over New Jersey in its opening game at the Under Armour Underclassmen Games today at Towson University.

Team Philly also suffered a 10-8 loss to Long Island.

In the win over NJ, Billy Coyle (Malvern Prep) and Adam Goldner (Malvern Prep) each scored twice and Matt Moore (Garnet Valley) and Brett Baskin (La Salle) each added a goal and an assist. Michael Drake (Salesianum School) and Michael Nelson (SouthernLehigh) scored one apiece.

Andrew Robshaw (Mendham) led New Jersey with four goals and Matt Stagnitta (Montgomery) had a goal and an assist.
In Philly’s loss to Long Island, Sowers had two goals and two assists and Feliziani (Ohio State commit) won 15 of 21 face-offs, clearly winning the battle with LI standout Gerard Arceri (Smithtown East, Penn State).

Ryan Kinnard (Penncrest) added two goals for Philly and Moore had a goal and an assist while Drake, Baskin and Denny Nealon (Garnet Valley) each scored once. Mullin had four saves and Sean McKee (PennCharter) had three.

Philly girls split

Team Philly rebounded from a 9-8 loss to New Jersey with an 11-3 rout of the West.

In the loss to NJ, Julia Hondros (Episcopal Academy) scored three goals while Hannah Keating (Agnes Irwin), Emily Mathewson (Garnet Valley), Natalie Kahn (Great Valley), Kristin Burnetta (Agnes Irwin) and Samantha McGee (Abington) each scored once.
