Philly 5 finished 5-0 overall.

“Philly Team 5 played with grit and gelled from the start, finishing most of their shots from assisted goals,” said coach Jen Duckenfield (Agnes Irwin), assisted by Jennifer Raech (Agnes Irwin). “They dominated the competition.

“They worked the ball really well to find the open player and had a strong defensive presence all over the field. In showcase tournaments usually you see a lot of individual play, but our girls found a way to play as a team and that was the key to our success.

“We really enjoyed watching the team get stronger each game. It was a great group of talented girls.”

Also, Philly 2 enjoyed a standout weekend, reaching the Seneca Division finals before bowing to Hudson Valley, 7-6, in the final. Philly 3 won its fifth-place game, a 7-6 winover Adirondack, and Philly 4 also won its fifth-place game with a 10-9 victory over Massachusetts/Rhode Island.
