Tryouts begin for Pennsylvania’s inaugural USBOXLA All-star team this Sunday, for both a high school and a middle school team.
Box lacrosse is emerging as a major program in the United States and Penn*Lax All-Stars aims to be the class of the nation. Top box competition has been established all over the country with teams like Denver Elite (CO), Cali*Lax All-Stars (CA), Team 91 (NY), Resolute (OH), Fundamental (CN) having set the pace for the last few years in the US. Penn*Lax will be traveling to the top four box tournaments in the country.
“We believe collectively there is enough box lacrosse experience in PA, and certainly there is enough talent in PA, to take aim and win nationals (in California next August),” said Penn*Lax co-founder Steve Holmes. “But the main end goal of all of this, is to expose talented field players to a game, and elite training that will most definitely serve as a huge advantage to our players development. Box lacrosse when taught properly makes you better, period.”
“We’re not trying to upset the balance of the current elite team experience in PA,” said Team Canada MVP and World Champion Kevin Crowley, also a coach for Penn*Lax. “We’re filling a major void that we believe will take our local players to unprecedented levels as an amazing supplement to field lacrosse.”
Penn*Lax All-Stars is a box only travel team, led by a team of elite local coaches.

HIGH SCHOOL TEAM (Birth Year 1999/1998 division, younger ages eligible)
Tryout #1: Sunday Oct. 18, 6:30-8:00pm @Maple Zone Sports Institute
Tryout #2: Monday Oct. 19th 6-7:30pm @Bucksmont Indoor Sports Center
MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAM (Birth Year 2002/2003 division, younger ages eligible)
Tryout #1: Sunday Oct. 18, 5-6:30pm @Maple Zone Sports Institute
Tryout #2: Monday Oct. 26th 6-7:30pm @Bucksmont Indoor Sports Center
*Attendance at both is recommended but NOT mandatory

Steven Holmes: Current Defenseman for the MLL Champion NY Lizards. 8 year NLL veteran with the Phila. Wings and SJ Stealth. Current defensive Coordinator with Malvern Prep. Former asst coach University of Virginia.
Adam Mueller: Current Team USA Box Offensive Coordinator. Former NLL player with the Phila. Wings. Former NLL coach and NLL Coach of the year with the NY Titans.
Kevin Crowley: World Champion with Team Canada in 2014. Former MLL MVP in 2013. Current star for MLL Charlotte Hounds and NLL NE Blackwolves.
Luke Wiles: Former NLL star for the Buffalo Bandits and Phila. Wings. 3x NLL All-Star with over 450 career points. Current Head Coach Archbishop Carroll
